Studies have shown that dietary intake of selenium may reduce the risk of various cancers including skin, breast, colon, lung and prostate cancer. Also, It has shown patients with psoriasis and eczema identified with low selenium levels.

These are essential ingredients that have been shown to have a protective effect on the health of the skin. In contrast, topical sunscreens act only locally and have to be applied regularly.

Definitely, dietary supplementation with vitamins, carotenoids, selenium may protect not just your skin, but also your whole body against UV irradiation, decreasing damage.
